Open up the Fundación Unicaja Art Collection — over 17,000 pieces from the 16th to the 21st century — without depending on visitors being able to travel to a physical gallery.
An online image gallery gets browsed; a museum gets walked. Being able to move through the rooms, step up to a painting and read its label completely changes how long people spend looking.
A 3D virtual museum explored in first person, with fourteen themed rooms — mythology and history, still lifes, the enduring Romantic spirit, prints and decorative arts, landscape, portraiture, Málaga terracottas, ports and seascapes, and popular devotion — and more than 200 works.
Vodafone commissioned us to programme and build the museum. It opens in any browser with nothing to install, and also works with a virtual reality headset for anyone who wants the immersive visit. Each room brings together works by artists such as José Denis Belgrano, Antonio Muñoz Degrain, Enrique Simonet, Mariano Benlliure and Ricardo Verdugo Landi, each with its label and context.
